White Glove Migration: Stripe ➔ MoonRoom

Overview of the Migration Process

During the migration process, there are five (5) key steps that form the process of a seamless transition into your new Room:

  • Preparation of your MoonRoom account and Room

  • Migration of your Customers' credit card data

  • Migration of all other data

  • Cessation of Stripe activity

  • Invitation to all Customers to join your new Room

Preparation of your MoonRoom account and Room will primarily focus on setting up your payouts account through our payment partner, Stripe, as well as creating your existing subscription plans. Upon creation of a Room, you will be asked to enter in your business details, connect a bank account, as well as create your plan(s). Once completed, your Customer data will now have a destination for this migration process.

Migration of your Customers’ credit card data is handled exclusively by Stripe. This information is transferred directly through Stripe’s network using a series of secret keys called “fingerprints” for each card. MoonRoom nor any of MoonRoom staff will have access to this sensitive data at any point in the Migration process, as well as any point afterwards.

Migration of all other data will include information such as names and emails of Customers, current plan, last payment date, next payment date, as well as any other information needed to ensure all actively-subscribed Customers are seamlessly transitioned onto a matching plan in your Room.

Cessation of Stripe Activity will take place only upon successful migration of your Customer data and payment information into your Room. Our team will run an automated script which will simultaneously and seamlessly resume all billing on MoonRoom as well as cease all billing in Stripe.

👋 Not to worry! This process has been tested many times over to ensure a smooth transition with no payments lost. Your Customers will not have to lift a finger during this process.

Invitation to all Customers to join your Room is the final step in this process! 🎉 This is only done once the migration process is complete, and once YOU are ready to begin using MoonRoom! During this process, we will send out an email to all Customers containing a unique invitation link for them to finish the setup of their MoonRoom account. This setup process for each Customer is quick and intuitive. We will work with you directly to ensure this email is coming from YOU, an email your Customers are familiar with.


Granting us access to Stripe.

In order to commence the White-Glove Migration process, MoonRoom staff will need to be granted limited access permission to your Stripe account. As detailed out in the White-Glove Migration agreement, MoonRoom will only ask for access to specific areas.

1. Log into your Stripe account and at the top right, click Settings.

2. Under Business settings, click Team.

3. Click + New member.

4. Proceed to enter in the team member email address provided in the White-Glove Migration Agreement, followed by selecting both the Developer and Analyst roles. Then click Send Invites.
